LAHORE: A Special Court (Central) on Wednesday sought arguments on the bail petitions of three officials of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in a case involving allegations of taking bribe from YouTuber Saadur Rehman alias Ducky Bhai.

The NCCIA officials — Salman Aziz, Mujtaba and Ali Raza — approached the court seeking post-arrest bail.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) anti-corruption wing had registered a case against the NCCIA officials on a complaint of YouTuber’s wife Aroob Jatoi on charges of alleged misuse of authority and extorting money from her husband, who was arrested in a case of promoting gambling apps on social media.

During the hearing, the court directed the lawyers of the NCCIA officials to come up with arguments on Dec 19.

Other accused officials include additional director Sarfraz Chaudhry, deputy director (acting in-charge) Muhammad Zawar Ahmad, assistant director Shoaib Riaz and Yasir Ramzan.

The FIA had told a court that more than Rs25 million had been recovered from the accused officials. The Lahore High Court had released Ducky Bhai on bail on Nov 24.
