RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Railways on Tuesday conducted an anti-encroachment operation and recovered its 56.62 marlas, high-value land.

Pakistan Railways spokesman said that on the special directives of Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi Pakistan Railways has carried out a major anti-encroachment operation near Usman Khattar Railway Station on the Taxila-Havelian section.

During the operation, all illegal constructions and shops established on railway land were completely demolished, resulting in the recovery of 56.62 marlas of valuable railway land worth millions of rupees.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Pakistan Railways’ Property and Land Branch.

He said that the action reflected Pakistan Railways’ firm commitment to protecting its assets and ensuring the effective utilisation of government property. Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi has reiterated that no illegal occupation of railway land will be tolerated under any circumstances.

He added that railways continues to strictly implement its zero-tolerance policy against encroachments.

Similar operations against land grabbers and encroachment mafias will continue across the Rawalpindi Division and other divisions to safeguard national assets, he said.

Pakistan Railways also appeals to the public to cooperate in protecting government property and to report any illegal activities related to railway land, to ensure transparency and preservation of public assets.
