KARACHI, June 7: The University of Karachi on Wednesday declared the results of BSc-I and BA-II (regular and external) annual examinations 2005.
According to a KU notification, about 17,014 candidates appeared in the exams and 9,647 passed. The pass percentage remained 56.70.
The first three positions in the BA-II annual examinations were clinched by four woman students.
The first position was clinched by Saima Naseer, seat no 453456, of the PECHS Govt College for Women, and second position by Anum Muhammad Idrees, seat no 453709, of the St Joseph's College for Women.
The third position was shared by Insia Dost Mohammad Bhojani, seat no 453310, of the PECHS College and Maha Shehzad Ashraf, seat no 453608, of the DHA Degree College for Women.
The results of 97 candidates were withheld for want of registration/enrolment, while 117 results were withheld on accounts of using unfair means in the exams.
Another 14 results were withheld for want of fine, unauthorized change of centre or for want of some particulars.
The results of 34 candidates of BSc-I exams were withheld for want of enrolment/particulars, fine, or for using unfair means in the exams.
Some 3,045 candidates appeared in BSc (Pass) Part-I examinations, and 1,190 were declared passed with a total pass percentage of 39.08.
