CHITRAL, June 6: Federal Minister of Political Affairs and provincial president of the ruling PML Engineer Ameer Muqam has said that the real credit for launching work on the Lowari Tunnel project goes to President Musharraf. The tunnel, he said, had been a longstanding demand of the people of Chitral.

Addressing a public meeting at the Polo Ground here on Tuesday, he said that the late prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was not the founder of the Lowari Tunnel but he just pretended to have started work on the project when the general elections of 1977 were nearing to gain the political support of the people.
