PSF invites 8 players

KARACHI, June 5: Eight players have been invited for trials to select a four-member Pakistani team that will take part in next month's World junior squash championship in New Zealand.

According to a Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) press release on Monday, Yasir Butt, Farhan Mehboob, Aamir Atlas Khan, Bilal Zaman, Kashif Khan, Waqar Mehboob, Adil Atlas Khan and Shohaib Hassan have been called for the four-day trials to be held from June 7-10 at Mushaf Squash Complex, Islamabad. World junior championship will be held from July 17-28.

Meanwhile, trials to select four-player national women team for this August's South Asian Games in Sri Lanka will commence on Wednesday) at Mushaf Squash Complex while trials for national men's team for the upcoming event will be held from June 22 to 27.

Vice-president PSF, Qamar Zaman will lead the selection committee that also comprises secretary PSF Sqn Ldr M Zahid Qureshi and Fahim Gul.

Women probable: Maria Toor Pakay, Sarah Awan, Muqaddas Ashraf, Misbah Rani, Saima Shaukat, Aliya Sarfra, Zeba Pervaiz, Mehwish Hanif, Zoya Khalid.--Agencies
