ISLAMABAD, June 5: Current expenditures of the presidency will increase during the fiscal year 2006-07, whereas the prime minister’s secretariat will cost less as compared to the last fiscal year.

According to the budget documents, allocation for staff, household and allowances of the president would increase by some 9.3 per cent.

The expenses incurred under this head during 2005-06 were Rs265.415 million; however, for the fiscal year 2006-07, Rs290.224 million have been allocated.

The expenditures of the prime minister’s secretariat would decline by some 3 per cent. The allocation for last year was Rs555.304 million which has now been reduced to 538.751 million.

When the budgets of the presidency and the prime minister’s secretariat are compared, it is noticed that the expenditures incurred by the latter would decrease under the head of operating expenses and repairs and maintenance.
