RAWALPINDI: Police continued search operations in different areas of Rawalpindi, registered 31 cases against tenants who did not register their data with the concerned police, also detained 43 illegal Afghan nationals and shifted them to the holding centre for deportation.

A police spokesman said on Tuesday that following the instructions of City Police Officer Syed Khalid Hamdani, the Police conducted search operations in different areas. During the search operations, 1,039 houses, 721 shops, 25 hotels and the whereabouts of 1,870 people were checked, in addition to detaining 43 illegal Afghan residents.

During the search operations, one kiln, one bus/truck stand and tenants’ data were also checked.

The spokesman said that 31 cases were registered against people who did not register their tenancy data.

Search operations were conducted in the areas of Naseerabad, Cantt, Sadar Wah, Morgah, Westridge, Race Course, Pirodhai, Ganjmandi, City, Waris Khan, Bani, New Town, Sadiqabad, Ratta Amral, Dhamial, Chountra, Kallar Syedan, Rawat, Sadr Baruni, Kahuta, Gujar Khan and Jatli.
