TAXILA: Punjab Governor Sardar Salim Haider Khan inaugurated a state-of-the-art dialysis centre at Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Fatehjang on Sunday.
The facility was established at the hospital with the assistance of Sundas Foundation.
The governor was accompanied by PPP district leadership Sardar Ashar Hayat Khan, senior party office-bearers, officials of the health department and representatives of the foundation.
The dialysis centre is expected to substantially ease the burden on kidney patients, reducing the need to travel to Rawalpindi, Attock or Islamabad for treatment. Residents hailed the initiative as a “blessing” for patients and their families.
The governor said the Punjab government was committed to providing essential health facilities at the doorstep of citizens, saying, “This dialysis centre is part of a larger vision to strengthen healthcare services in the district and ensure quality treatment for all.”
In addition to the dialysis centre, Fatehjang has seen the establishment of a blood bank, a thalassemia centre and a free medical laboratory.
These facilities are expected to significantly improve patient care and reduce the need for long-distance travel for treatment.
