DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The annual convocation 2025 of Gomal Medical College, Dera Ismail Khan, was held the other day.
The chief guest of the ceremony was former chief minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, who awarded degrees to the graduating students and appreciated their hard work and dedication.
Dean of Gomal Medical College Prof Naseem Sabah in her welcome address saidthat the 2025 batch stood out for its commitment, research achievements and professional competence.
She added that the college continued to provide high-quality medical education and had been achieving new milestones in research and practical training.
The chief guest, Ali Amin Gandapur, congratulated the young doctors and reminded them that the field of medicine was a noble profession.
He said, therefore, doctors must uphold knowledge, ethics, humanity and justice in their service to society.
He explained the difference between justice and fairness. Charging the same consultation fee from everyone may be considered fairness, he said, adding, but true justice lies in helping the poor, the needy and those who cannot afford medical expenses.
Supporting such patients is like putting food on the table for their children, which, he said, will not only bear reward in this world but also in the hereafter.
He reaffirmed that the government and administration would continue to extend full support for the improvement of the healthcare sector.
During the ceremony, outstanding students were awarded gold medals and shields, while the joy and pride of graduating doctors and their families was clearly visible.
The annual Convocation 2025 of Gomal Medical College ended with a renewed pledge that the young doctors will utilise their skills and knowledge in the service of the nation and humanity.
