BAHAWALPUR: Multan Anti-Corruption Special Judge Muhammad Nadeem Ansari sentenced a sessions court record keeper (Ahlmad) to a cumulative 21 years in prison for corruption and forgery involving the preparation of fake release order.

Ahlmad Muhammad Jaffer received seven years imprisonment for each of three offences, including corruption and forgery.

The prisoner he sought to release, Mazhar Abbas, was also sentenced to 14 years (seven years for each of two offences). According to the judge’s order, all sentences for both convicts will run concurrently.

The prosecution stated that Muhammad Jaffer prepared fake release orders for Mazhar Abbas from the Multan jail last year. The ACE Multan circle officer, Naveed Anjum, detected the forgery, arrested the two convicts, and later submitted the challan to the special court. The court imposed a fine of Rs100,000 on each convict.

RAPE CONVICTION: Lodhran Additional District and Sessions Judge Umar Farooq Awan handed down a sentence of life imprisonment to a man convicted of raping a six-year-old boy.

The prosecution said on March 1, 2025, victim ‘Q’ was playing outside his house in Basti Nalawala. When he did not return home, his father launched a search and heard screams from a nearby sugarcane field.

He found the convict, Kashif Sindhar, committing the act. Sindhar fled but was later arrested by Dhanote police and charged under Section 376 PPC.

The court sentenced Kashif to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs700,000. In default of payment, he is to serve an additional three-month jail. The court ordered that the fine amount be paid to the victim.
