Kiln owner, ASI in the dock

OKARA, June 2: An ASI and brick kiln owner were booked on Friday for abducting a girl to compel her family for forced labour. A six-member family of Chak 143/12-L (Sahiwal) would do labour in a brick kiln owned by Raja Abid in Chak 12/1-L near Renala Khurd. The family offered resistance and refused to work when the owner started forced labour from them. At this, the owner thrashed all family members and abducted Fauzia at gunpoint.

Shamim Akhtar, mother of Fauzia, moved court alleging that Raja Abid in connivance with ASI Aslam abducted her daughter to compel the family for forced labour.

Renala Sadar police registered a case against accused Raja Abid and ASI Aslam.

KIDNAPPED: Haveli Lakha police on Friday recovered a retired school teacher some 36 hours after his abduction.

Six armed men had kidnapped a retired school teacher when he was on way home from Deepalpur to Haveli Lakha.

Later, accused Irfan, Rizwan, Ismail, Qaiser Shah and their two accomplices locked the teacher in a poultry farm and deprived him of Rs7,000.

On receiving information, the police raided there and arrested one of the accused and recovered the teacher.

While their other accomplices managed to escape from the scene.

A case has been registered against the accused.
