TOBA TEK SINGH, June 2: The first and second year students of homoeopathic college were not issued roll number slips by the National Council of Homoeopathy (NCH) due to which they could not take the annual examinations.
Students told journalists on Friday that the administration of various colleges had collected from them the admission fee and when they reached their colleges to take the examinations, they were told that their roll numbers were not issued.
They said they were told that as the NCH had been abolished so the decision of admissions with late fee could not be taken in time as a result of which roll number slips could not be issued.
When contacted, a local homeopathic college principal Dr Maqsood Ahmad said it was a routine of the NCH that it accepted admissions with late fee. So the colleges received fee from candidates after due date hoping that the NCH would extend the date but this year it was not extended as a result of which roll number slips were not issued.
He, however, claimed that in his college number of such students was not more than 15.
On the other hand, students urged the NCH to issue roll numbers and arrange separate examination for them to save their academic year.
DEATHS CONDOLED: District nazim Abdul Sattar and DCO Nawazish Ali visited on Friday Chak 515 GB near Kamalia to condole the deaths of five children who died of a mysterious disease a few days ago.
More than 150 children between one and seven years of age fell sick with high fever and red spots on their bodies.
A health department team also visited the village while a camp was set up to treat the children.
The specialist doctors could not find the cause of the death of the children.
CASE REGISTERED: Rajana police registered a case on Friday against five villagers on the charge of attacking a police party.
According to police report, a team had gone to Chak 190 GB to recover a woman on the orders of a district and sessions judge. When they were returning after recovering the woman, Ramzan and his four accomplices attacked them. However, they could not snatch the woman.
KIDNAP: Rajana police registered a kidnap case against four people on Friday.
Haq Nawaz Channar of Chak 260 GB told police that his widowed daughter was residing with him and Amin and his three unidentified accomplices came to his village and kidnapped her.
