Blast rocks Quetta

QUETTA, May 31: The city was rocked on Wednesday night by a powerful explosion near the city branch of the National Bank of Pakistan.

“It was a home-made bomb planted near the building of NBP that exploded around 11.30pm,” police said.

Windowpanes of the bank and nearby buildings were shattered. However, no casualty was reported.

SUSPENDED: A Balochistan High Court statement issued here on Wednesday said that Additional Sessions Judge Abdul Ghaffar Malik under suspension has been retired on his own application from May 30, 2006.
