LAHORE: The Punjab government has introduced anti-smog gun technology.

“The formal use of anti-smog guns has begun in different areas of Lahore,” Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said here on Thursday.

She said with the help of an AI-linked modern climate system, the effectiveness of the anti-smog gun had also been assessed.

The modern machinery along with other measures had been introduced to control the problem of smog in Punjab’s regions.

“Through this modern machine, tiny droplets of water are sprayed into the air to combat smog. The water mist helps clean pollution and dust particles present in the atmosphere. This modern machinery is also being used in countries like China, India, and others to reduce smog.”

The minister said that 15 anti-smog guns had been manufactured locally, which were now in formal use. Five additional anti-smog guns were under production. A water purification system is also connected with the anti-smog guns.

“Each anti-smog gun is linked with a 16,000-liter water tank. Anti-smog guns will also help in reducing respiratory and lung disease,” she said.
