LAHORE, May 27: The investigation police (cantonment division) claimed on Saturday to have busted two gangs and arrested six robbers along with a motorcycle, 10 cell phones, Rs55,000 in cash and illegal weapons.
The police claimed that accused Rizwanul Hasan, alias Pinku, Junaid Shahzad, Abbas Ali, Bakhat Zada, Rehmandad and Umer Khan were wanted in a number of robbery cases. They confessed to 21 robberies during preliminary investigation.
DIG Iqbal Khan had directed the cantonment SP to launch a campaign against the gangs of robbers. Two special teams headed by DSPs were constituted for the purpose.
The police said cases had been against them in north and south cantonment, Factory Area, Defence, Shadman, Harbanspura and Gulberg.
Meanwhile, the CIA arrested two drugs pushers and recovered 44 kilograms of hashish from their possession. They were Wasim Ali and Amir Khan.
