District administrations ordered to monitor early warning systems
The Punjab chief minister additionally directed district officials to monitor early warning systems and communicate information to the public to prevent casualties.
“There are some people who are present as a flood is coming; this is the responsibility of the district administration: forewarn these people,” CM Maryam ordered. “Do what you need to do, but stop people from going into these areas and warn them about safety hazards.”
Noting that there had been no damage to livestock, but instructed deputy commissioners to catalogue the damage to houses, crops, cattle and property in loss sheets.
