SARGODHA: One suspect died while seven others, including police personnel, were injured when an Elite Force vehicle collided with a road roller near Mangni Bridge in Sargodha on Sunday.

As per details, a Sargodha police team was returning from Ghulapur after arresting three suspects, Asghar Ali, Akram and Ali Raza. Their vehicle ran into a road roller parked near the Mangni Bridge by a construction company. Several passengers were injured in the accident, while the vehicle was completely destroyed.

In the accident, arrested suspect Asghar died of excessive bleeding due to a head injury and head constable Suleman Ali, constable Asim and Tayyab Yaqoob were among the injured and were shifted to the Sargodha DHQ Hospital. Other two suspects, Akram and Ali Raza, also received minor injuries and were provided first aid at the Bhagtanwala THQ Hospital.

ENCOUNTER: A suspected dacoit was arrested in an injured condition after an alleged encounter with the Crime Control Department (CCD) near Mangwana Bungalow on Sunday.

Police said that suspect Kashif Zaheer of Qainchi Mor was injured by the firing of his accomplices, who managed to escape. Police claimed that a stolen motorcycle and a pistol were also recovered from the suspect.

ARRESTED: Five women have been arrested for allegedly looting mourners during the procession of 28th of Safar.

Police claimed that a group of women joined the procession as mourners and snatched the earrings from other mourners’ ears. Several mourners were reportedly injured in the incident.

The Factory Area police arrested five women from the group and started investigations.
