OKARA: A 12-year-old child, Ali Hamza, died while his father Murtaza was severely injured when their motorcycle was hit by a truck on the Okara-Dipalpur Road on Friday.

The police claimed to have arrested truck driver Nadeem and impounded his vehicle at the Dipalpur City police station.

In another incident, 40-year-old Ghulam Mustafa died after falling off a rickshaw on Faisalabad Road. Rescue 1122 shifted the bodies of the victims of both incidents to local hospitals.

GANG ARRESTED: The Dipalpur City police claimed to have busted a seven member Mohsin alias Mohsni gang and recovered cash and illegal weapons.

Police said that a Dipalpur City police team nabbed a criminal during an intelligence-based operation.

Police claimed that during investigation, he disclosed the identities of other members of the gang, including Mohsni, Hashim, Ihtisham, Asif, Mohsin Ali, Muhammad Ahmad and Ahmad Ali.

After arresting all the suspects, they allegedly confessed to around 23 robberies during investigation.

The Dipalpur City SHO said that police recovered Rs1.2 million cash, seven illegal weapons and other stolen items from the suspects. He claimed the gang mostly conducted house robberies.
