KARACHI: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) on Tuesday announced the results of the 2025 annual examinations for second year Home Economics and special candidates (Arts regular) groups.

While announcing the results, BIEK Chairman Fakir Muhammad Lakho said that in the Home Economics group, Iram Faisal, a student of Rana Liaquat Ali Khan Government College of Home Economics, secured the first position with 1,054 marks and an ‘A-1’ grade out of a total of 1,200 marks. Iman Hashmi secured the second position with 988 marks and an ‘A-1’ grade, while Shanza Nayab secured the third position with 980 marks and an ‘A-1’ grade.

The chairman further informed that in the Special Candidates’ examinations, Syeda Faria, a student of Dewa Higher Secondary School, secured the first position with 960 marks and an ‘A-1’ grade out of a total of 1,100 marks. Barira Islam, also of the same school, secured second position with 925 marks and an ‘A-1’ grade, while Iman Al-Shams, a student of IDA-RIEU School and College for the Deaf, stood third with 920 marks and an ‘A-1’ grade.

While providing details, the examinations director Zarina Rashid said that 198 students registered for the Home Economics group examinations, of whom 189 appeared, and 112 students passed — thus the success ratio was 59.26 per cent. In these examinations, nine students were declared successful with an ‘A-1’ grade, 24 with an ‘A’ grade, 30 with a ‘B’ grade, 31 with a ‘C’ grade and 18 with a ‘D’ grade.

It was further informed that 116 candidates registered for the examinations for Special Candidates (Arts regular group), of whom 114 appeared. Out of these, 103 candidates were declared successful, thus the success ratio was 90.35pc. In these examinations, 19 candidates secured an ‘A-1’ grade, 55 an ‘A’ grade, 27 a ‘B’ grade and two candidates a ‘C’ grade.
