PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MNA Shandana Gulzar has demanded the immediate suspension of the SHO Badbher police station and a judicial inquiry into his actions.
Speaking at a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club on Monday, she said SHO Abdul Wakeel was victimising innocent people just to mint money.
Accompanied by representatives of different political parties, including Ghazanfar Ali, Nasrullah of Awami National Party, Mohammad Ramzan of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl, and PTI lawyers’ wing leader Moazam Butt Advocate, Ms Gulzar claimed that the SHO had been posted in her electoral constituency to affect her vote bank.
“The SHO has been posted by IGP at the behest of the federal government to tease my people,” she alleged.
The lawmaker said that people of the area irrespective of their political affiliations were ready to come to the streets against the police official.
She warned that if the police officer was not suspended by Tuesday, a protest will be held on Kohat Road.
“We have met with the capital city police officer and the IGP, asking for suspension of the SHO but to no avail,” she said.
Similarly, PTI leader Moazam Butt said that if the SHO was not suspended, they would file a petition in the Peshawar High Court against him.
The representatives of other political parties also demanded replacement of the SHO.
