91 truckloads of material seized during clean-up campaign

LAHORE: The district administration has confiscated 91 truckloads of material in anti-encroachment operations in different areas of the city during the last three days.

The operations have successfully cleared hundreds of banners, posters, and streamers whilst dismantling numerous temporary structures that had illegally occupied public spaces. Key areas including Mall Road, Shadman, Johar Town, Gawalmandi and surrounding districts have been systematically cleared of encroachments, with similar operations conducted along College Road, Harbanspura, Naulakha, Canal Road, Nabipura and adjacent localities.

Deputy Commissioner Lahore Syed Musa Raza has emphasised that operations will continue until Lahore becomes completely free from illegal encroachments, with the restoration of the city’s aesthetic appeal being the administration’s primary priority.

He said a zero tolerance policy towards illegal encroachments was implemented to ensure no compromises were being made regardless of the violator’s status, whilst maintaining that rule of law will be upheld and no individual is above the law.

Earlier, the administration also conducted operation to combat profiteering and hoarding in different areas of the city.

The DC directed the assistant commissioners and price control magistrates to visit the field to ensure strict compliance with government-approved price schedules.

The administration has prioritised ensuring citizens receive goods at government-approved rates, with the strictest possible action being taken against those who exploit the public.

Price control magistrates’ performance is being monitored on a daily basis, with all citizen complaints being addressed on a priority basis through a dedicated system.

Citizens can lodge complaints about profiteering through the control room number 03070002345 or contact the Deputy Commissioner Lahore’s social media platforms for grievance redressal.
