Iran’s Shia Muslims gathered around mosques across the country, as they ushered in the beginning of Muharram, just three days after a ceasefire with Israel was declared, Al Jazeera reports.

In Qom, one of the holiest sites in the country, devotees witnessed the flag-changing ceremony at the Hazrat Masoumeh’s shrine on Friday to mark the start of the month, according to the images posted by Iran’s broadcaster Press TV.
