Saudi Arabia has welcomed a truce announcement by US President Donald Trump in the Iran-Israel war, AFP reports.

Welcoming the ceasefire, Saudi Arabia valued “the efforts exerted to de-escalate tensions”, according to a statement from the foreign ministry.

“The Kingdom looks forward to all parties committing to de-escalation in the coming period,” the statement read.
