JUI senator submits resolution against govt’s Trump Nobel nomination
Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam Senator Kamran Murtaza has submitted a Senate resolution urging the federal government to withdraw its decision to nominate US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
The text of the resolution is as follows:
“The Senate of Pakistan urges the Federal Government to rescind andwithdraw its decision recommending US President Donald Trump for [the]Nobel Peace Prize for the year 2026 after [the] bombing [of] Iran by the USA onthe orders of its President in violation of international law,interfering in the sovereignty of Iran, resulting several casualtiesalso, as one of the concern of human rights, disturbing the peace inthe region.”
Other politicians on Sunday also raised their concerns over the government’s decision to recommend US President Donald Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, as Washington joined Israel’s war with Iran.
