German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has urged Iran to enter immediate talks with the United States and Israel to find a diplomatic solution to the current conflict, a government spokesperson said, Reuters reports.

The spokesperson said Merz would “coordinate closely” with his EU and US partners on further steps in the course of the day.
