MULTAN, May 11: District nazim Mian Faisal Mukhtar said on Thursday that cattle market would be shifted to a suitable place outside the city by May 30.

“No trade of cattle heads would be allowed in city areas after May 30”, he told a district advisory committee meeting here.

Town nazims Syed Abbas Akbar, Diwan Nasir Abbas Bukhari, Shaukat Bosan, Rai Arif Mansab, DCO Iftikhar Babar and officials of departments concerned attended the meeting.

Rai Arif handed over first instalment of Rs15 million to nazims of Bosan and Shershah towns.

Mian Faisal ordered them to check encroachments on Old Shujabad and Nishtar roads.

He said work on expansion and beautification of city parks would begin within two weeks and tenders have been issued for the purpose.

He ordered health EDO to ensure availability of doctors at hospitals, basic health units and rural health centres.

He ordered town nazims to establish internet link with the district nazim office as a part of e-governance initiative.

He said traffic signals with timers would be installed at Nawan Shehr Chowk, Chungi No 9 and SP Chowk.

The district nazim also directed town nazim to conduct survey of buildings and submit report of dilapidated buildings to his office.—APP
