Robbery-cum-murder suspect arrested after 11 years
TOBA TEK SINGH: Jhang Bazaar police in Faisalabad on Saturday arrested a suspect wanted for the past 11 years in a robbery and murder case.
According to police, Faisal Majeed had allegedly shot dead Ghulam Meeran during a robbery near Chenab Chowk on Kotwali Road.
The incident occurred when the deceased was returning home after withdrawing cash from a bank.
ARRESTED: A couple was arrested by Ghulam Muhammadabad police in Faisalabad on Saturday for allegedly causing the death of their seven-month-old daughter.
Police said Kashif and his wife Bano Bibi were involved in a domestic quarrel when Kashif allegedly swung a stick at his wife. She moved away, and the blow accidentally struck the infant, resulting in her instant death.
INJURED: A doctor couple sustained critical injuries in a targeted shooting incident at their clinic on Jhang Road, Gojra, on Saturday evening.
Unidentified assailants reportedly entered the clinic and opened fire on Dr Waseem Cheema and his wife, Dr Seemi Cheema. Both were rushed to Gojra THQ Hospital.
Police have launched an investigation.
RAPE: An illegal doctor was arrested on Saturday for allegedly raping a woman at Mauza Jodhpur in Kabirwala tehsil, Khanewal.
The husband of the alleged rape survivor stated in the FIR registered with Barameel police that his wife had visited the suspect for a blood pressure check-up where the suspect allegedly raped her at gunpoint while another accomplice recorded the incident.
Police have taken the main suspect into custody.
ADDICT: Women police station personnel arrested a man from Islam Nagar, Faisalabad, on Saturday for allegedly torturing his wife.
Complainant Salma Bibi stated in her complaint that her husband, Tariq Zia, an addict, demanded money for
narcotics. Upon her refusal, he reportedly assaulted her with a kitchen chopper, causing multiple injuries.
