Explosions have been heard in the central Iranian city of Isfahan, CNN says, citing Iranian state media reports.

Semi-official news agency Fars reported that the air defence system in the city had been activated.

Isfahan is the home of Iran’s largest nuclear research complex, which has been previously targeted by Israeli strikes, CNN noted.
