KPop Demon Hunters Netflix animated movie
Netflix has released the official trailer for its upcoming animated feature K-Pop Demon Hunters, an action-fantasy adventure set to premiere later this year.
Directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, the film blends Korean folklore with vibrant animation and a K-pop soundtrack. The project was inspired by her desire to celebrate Korean culture and mythology through animation.
The film follows a team of demon-fighting K-pop stars navigating fame, friendship and supernatural threats. Music plays a central role in the film.
The soundtrack is produced by the hit-making team behind BLACKPINK, and includes original songs. The track captures the spirit of resilience and defiance in the face of deception.
K-Pop Demon Hunters promises a thrilling fusion of music, mythology and girl power.
Third Shaun the Sheep film announced for 2026
Aardman will release Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom in 2026, marking the third feature in the beloved franchise.
Described as a “light-hearted, spooky Halloween adventure,” the film follows the Oscar-nominated Shaun the Sheep Movie (2015) and Farmageddon (2019). Directed by Steve Cox and Matthew Walker and written by Mark Burton and Giles Pilbrow, the film is produced by Richard Beek with Aardman veterans Nick Park and Peter Lord as executive producers.
Shaun, a spinoff from Wallace & Gromit, continues to be a fan favourite, with season 7 of the TV series set to debut later this year.
Mattel and TriStar team up for Whac-A-Mole movie
Mattel and TriStar Pictures have announced a live-action/animated hybrid feature based on the classic arcade game Whac-A-Mole. The film will be developed by Mattel Films and TriStar.
“Whac-A-Mole is more than a game — it’s a laugh-out-loud battle of reflexes that has brought joy and a little chaos to families for five decades,” said Mattel Films President Robbie Brenner.
TriStar Pictures President Nicole Brown added, “Whac-A-Mole is a brand that has lived in pop culture for generations. We’re excited to create a fresh, unexpected take for today’s audiences.”
No release date has been announced.
