Wonder Craft: Space rocket card

The days are hot and long, so here’s my advice: stay indoors and explore your inner creativity.

Today, we’re making something for all the little space lovers out there! It’s not just any card; this one comes with a fun surprise. With just a gentle pull of the thread, a rocket zooms up into space.

It’s simple and interactive. So, let’s get started on this playful DIY card that’s as fun to make as it is to play with!

Things you need:

  1. One A4-sized black paper or hardboard

  2. Glue stick

  3. Scissors

  4. Black thread or string (around 20 inches)

  5. Punch machine

  6. Scotch tape

  7. Cutouts of a rocket and moon (you can also draw and paint them yourself)

  8. White marker (or correction fluid/Blanco)

Directions:

  1. If your cutouts are plain white, fill them with colours, picture 2.

  2. Fold the black paper or hardboard in half; picture 3.

  3. Punch two holes diagonally — one on the top right and one on the bottom left; pictures 4 and 5.

  4. Paste the moon on the top left side of the folded card; picture 6.

  5. Take a black string or thread and paste the rocket onto it using tape; picture 7.

  6. Insert one end of the thread through the bottom hole, (keep the rocket on top of the thread), and the other end through the top hole. Once both ends are inside the folded card, tie them together in a tight knot; pictures 8, 9 and 10.

  7. Finally, use a white marker or correction fluid (Blanco) to make small dots and a few stars across the card to give it a complete universe look.

The good thing is, just like the universe, you can unleash your creativity by adding more celestial objects to the front and inside of the card.
