SAHIWAL: Crime control department (CCD) claimed on Tuesday that two more suspects, allegedly wanted in over 100 cases, were killed in the firing by their own accomplices during an “encounter” near 109/7-R village, Ghana Moor, Chichawatni tehsil, on Monday night.
This is the second “encounter” by the CCD in the last 48 hours, wherein total four suspects were killed.
CCD SP Sajid Hussain told Dawn one of the suspects was allegedly involved in the murder of a grocery shop owner at Shahman Town last month.
CCD DSP Imdad Balooch claimed that the suspects, identified asShoukat Alias Shoki, a resident of Kot Khadim Ali Shah and Ali Sher alias Sherain, of 68/5-L village, Yousafwal, were killed in the firing by their own accomplices.
The CCD officials say that both suspects were wanted in over 32 and 70 criminal cases, respectively, including those pertaining to murder, attempted murder, robbery, dacoity, cattle theft and vehicle and motorcycle snatching.
After the postmortem examination, the bodies of the suspects were handed over to their families.
WOMAN MURDERED: A widow was allegedly brutally murdered at 118/12-L village in front of her minor daughter by a suspect who accused her of having relations with his father.
As per police sources, Muzamil Bibi, widow of Abdur Rehman, lived with her 12-year-old daughter, Amber, and earned livelihood by selling milk and working in fields.
Sh was returning home from fields on a donkey cart carrying fodder for her animals, when she was intercepted by the armed suspect, Atif Mamoon and his accomplice Azam.
The suspect, Atif, accusing her of having relations with his father, opened fire on her with his 30-bore pistol, killing her on the spot.
The suspect and his accomplice fled the scene while resorting to aerial firing.
Kasowal police have registered an FIR against Atif and Azam under sections 302 and 34 of the PPC on the complaint of the victim’s brother, Muhammad Hussain.
The police are investigating the matter.
ADDICT KILLED: A dispute over drugs distribution allegedly claimed the life of an addict near railway tracks in the vicinity of Sharif Colony on Monday night.
According to police sources, some drug addicts gathered at their “den” near railway tracks near Sharif Colony late on Monday to use drugs. However, a fight erupted among them over distribution of drugs. As a result, one Hyder Ali (30) was severely injured by other addicts, who fled away.
A passerby informed Rescue 1122 about the injured addict who was lying unconscious near the railway tracks. A Rescue 1122 team arrived at the scene and pronounced Ali dead.
Ghala Mandi police transferred the body to the district headquarters hospital for autopsy.
Police are looking for the addicts responsible for Ali’s death.
