ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s ace snooker player, the 42-year-old Mohammad Asif, has qualified for the Commonwealth Snooker and Billiards Championships in Mauritius, which will run from July 2-6.
Asif, Pakistan’s most successful cueist and a three-time world champion, secured his spot by winning the IBSF World Men Snooker Championship in Doha last year.
The Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association (PBSA) confirmed it has submitted Asif’s visa documents to the Mauritius Embassy in Islamabad and is awaiting approval.
Expressing strong confidence, the PBSA stated they believe Asif can achieve greatness and bring home a medal for Pakistan.
“We are incredibly proud... behind him in every way,” the association declared, wishing their champion the best of luck.”
