PARACHINAR: Two security personnel were martyred and eight others were injured when terrorists attacked a security checkpost in border area of Hussain Mela in Kurram district on Thursday.

Sources said in Hussain Mela area of Luqmankhel Tangi in upper Kurram, adjacent to Nangarhar province of Afghanistan, suspected terrorists attacked the security post with heavy weapons.

As a result, two personnel were martyred on the spot while eight others received injuries.

The injured personnel were airlifted to Peshawar. After the incident, the security forces cordoned off the area and tribal people also came out of their houses in support of security forces.

They chased the alleged attackers and one of them was reportedly arrested.
