GILGIT, May 10: Police have launched an operation against unregistered and stolen vehicles in the six districts of the Northern Areas.

Sources said police had impounded six vehicles and lodged FIRs against their owners, adding that stolen vehicles were being smuggled from the neighbouring areas of the NWFP. They said the drive had been launched to prevent crimes.
