LARKANA, May 9: Sindh National Front Chairman Mumtaz Ali Bhutto has accused President Gen Pervez Musharraf of handing over Sindh to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, turncoats and landlords, who have made the lives of the people miserable.

In a press statement issued here on Monday, he advised the president to give a close look to Sindhi print and electronic media and keep himself abreast of the situation in the province.

He claimed that conditions resembling the scenario of the former East Pakistan were prevalent in Sindh and the result could be the same.

Pro-Musharraf people were using state machinery as a tool to protect their interests while the rest of the population was facing immense hardship, Mr Bhutto added.

He regretted the deteriorating law and order situation in Sindh and Ratodero (his hometown) was facing the worst situation.

He said that people were sandwiched between criminals and officers posted on sifarish had virtually forced the people to protest.

Recently, he alleged, police stormed the ‘Bhando Qubo’ village in Ratodero and killed a villager, arrested a contractor, Syed Pariyal Shah, who was severely tortured and outlaws had killed a Hindu trader, Anil Kumar, in Naudero.

The SNF chief said no concrete measures were taken by the administration despite the fact that the matter had been brought to the notice of the Sindh chief minister and other people concerned.

Mr Bhutto urged President Gen Musharraf to intervene and rectify the situation in Sindh.

FIR LODGED: The SHO of Ratodero police station on Monday lodged an FIR against four policemen, including an assistant sub-inspector and the in-charge of a lock-up on the charge of negligence, which led to the escape of five under trial prisoners on Sunday.

They included ASI Deedar Sariyo, Ashique Rahoojo, Ashique Agham and Waseem Soomro.
