President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan has condemned Israel’s policies against Palestinians, called for establishing a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, and called for ensuring the supply of uninterrupted humanitarian aid to the besieged enclave.
“We are witnessing the international system gradually drifting into a crisis of legitimacy. The clearest example of the crisis of legitimacy is Israel’s relentless cruelty and expansionist policies against Palestinians,” he said while addressing a trilateral summit in Lachin, Azerbaijan, attended by the leaders of Pakistan and the host nation.
Erdogan expressed determination to “continue defending the lives of innocent children and people who are being blatantly murdered in Gaza”.
“We will stand against all attempts to disturb peace of our region. Our part of the world is already done with blood and tear,” he said.
The Turkish president called on the world to “increase pressure on the Israeli administration for establishing a permanent ceasefire in Gaza”, and taking “uninterrupted humanitarian aid” to the enclave.
