The Foreign Office has said that the portrayal that Pakistan was seeking a ceasefire in “despair and frustration” is yet another “blatant lie” by the Indian government.

In a statement, the FO said that the country remains committed to the “ceasefire understanding”, adding that Pakistan was taking necessary steps towards de-escalation and regional stability.

“This ceasefire was achieved as a result of the facilitation of several friendly countries which contacted us with a message of de-escalation,” the FO said in a statement.
