Pakistan ‘A’ capture EurAsia Cup

ABU DHABI, May 5: A brilliant unbeaten century (106) by Hasan Raza and an equally valuable 73 by Misbahul Haq powered Pakistan ‘A’ to lift the EurAsia Cup on Friday beating India by 36 runs at Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

Batting first after winning the toss Pakistan ‘A’ thanks to the fourth wicket stand between Hasan and Misbah that realised 174 runs posted 288 for four wickets.

The target proved too stiff for India “A” who were bowled out for 252 in 47.5 overs.

Indians were in the hunt as long as RS Sodhi (70) and skipper Venogopal Rao (69) were at the wicket but once the pair was separated wickets fell at regular intervals with Pakistan ‘A’ emerging comfortable victors.

Leg-spinner Mansoor Amjad and medium-pacer Umar Gul shared the bowling honours taking four and three wickets each.
