The Punjab government has started mock exercises by the Civil Defence and Rescue 1122 across the province to ensure preparedness for any emergency amid the prevailing intense tensions with India, state-run Radio Pakistan reports.

On the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Civil Defence Department has been fully activated.

Mock drills are taking place in Rawalpindi, Murree, Jhelum, Chakwal, Sargodha, Narowal, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Sahiwal, Multan, Muzaffargarh and other key locations across Punjab.
