PPP’s Shazia Marri says her party would ‘rise above political differences’ to defend nation

PPP Senator Shazia Marri has said her party would “rise above their political differences and defend the nation” in the wake of the India-Pakistan military confrontation.

Addressing the media in Islamabad, Marri said the PPP endorsed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s proposal for a neutral investigation into the Pahalgam incident.

She said the valour displayed by the armed forces was exemplary as they downed “five jets and three drones”.

The PPP leader castigated the Indian government for “violating the Geneva Convention” by attacking the civilian population of Pakistan.

“India’s internal situation is that the Modi government is attacking minorities,” Marri said, adding that India was trying to divert attention from its atrocities in occupied Kashmir.
