LAHORE, May 4: The Punjab government is considering to take action against what officials said on Thursday recruitment of 55 lower grade employees in the office of the Punjab advocate-general without an approval by the respective cabinet committee.
Officials claimed that office of the advocate-general had recently recruited 55 officials, including 11 each messengers, scooter riders, stenographers, assistants and junior clerks without getting an approval by the cabinet committee formed under Law Minister Muhammad Basharat Raja for the purpose.
The committee was given the mandate to approve all stages of the recruitment in all government departments. As a result, all departments had so far made appointments while fulfilling the pre-condition.
Sources said the government was considering to look into the matter to determine as to how the appointments were made in the AG office without the committee’s approval. ——Staff Reporter
