FAISALABAD, May 4: Convict Rana Saqib alias Saqi was hanged in the district jail here on Thursday morning. He had murdered councillor Haji Riaz in 1988 over a minor dispute. He was sentenced to death by the sessions court. His mercy appeals were rejected by the Lahore High Court and the Supreme Court.
