SIALKOT, May 4: The district education department has failed to improve the lot of the Government Boys Elementary School, Chichariyali, Pasrur.

The institution has been facing deterioration for a decade and the classes have not been resumed since then, thanks to alleged differences among the local politicians.

Protesting against the indifference, they told newsmen that the local boys primary schools had been upgraded to the middle level at Chichariyali village and a new building of this school was constructed but the middle classes have not been started by the Sialkot education department.

The people have urged Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi to look into the matter and direct the authorities concerned to start the middle classes in the school at the earliest.

Meanwhile, the Government Girls Primary School, Sohawi, (Pasrur) is without the boundary walls and other basic facilities for the last decade.

It is complained that the school building is dilapidating, as the rainwater seeps into the classrooms. As a result, the girl students have to get education while sitting on the ground in the open.
