UAF, tech network to collaborate in research

TOBA TEK SINGH: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) and D8 Technology Transfer and Exchange Network (D-8TTEN) signed a letter of intent on Wednesday under which both sides will explore and collaborate on research and development in areas of common interest.

They will facilitate exchange of startups and promote technology transfer.

According to the agreement, both sides will share information on patents, technology and innovation to foster collaborations.

Dr Sultan Habibullah and Dr Muhammad Kashif Saleemi attended the Inotex 2025 Premier and Technology Exhibition held at Pardis Technology Park, Tehran, Iran, and set up a stall of technologies of UAF.

The D-8TTEN situated in Tehran, Iran, stands as a beacon of innovation and technological advancement in the Middle East. D8TTEN is a dynantic network situated within the framework of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, comprising eight developing Muslim countries, namely Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey.

The core objectives of this network encompass capacity building, facilitating the exchange of information concerning technological capabilities, achievements, and requirements among member nations, and fostering coordination and synergy among them.

Meanwhile, UAF’s Institute of Home Sciences staged an exhibition based on innovative thinking and entrepreneurial skills of students in which more than 200 students put up stalls of their projects. Inaugurating the exhibition, Director of Home Sciences Dr Beenish Israr said that all possible efforts were being made to develop entrepreneurial skills among students so that they can become job providers rather than job seekers.
