ISLAMABAD: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registered 2,757 new companies in April, bringing the total number of registered firms in the country to 249,365, as per data released on Friday.
Around 99.9 per cent of new company registrations were now processed digitally.
Private limited companies accounted for 54pc of the total new registrations, while single-member companies represented 40pc, the remaining 6pc included public unlisted companies, not-for-profit and trade organisations, and limited liability partnerships.
The IT and e-commerce sectors led the growth, with 552 new companies. The trading sector followed with 350, while the services sector added 313.
The SECP said it was committed to enhancing digital infrastructure and further simplifying business procedures.
