WASHINGTON, April 28: The United States announced on Thursday that it would soon begin accepting North Korean refugees.

Republican Senator San Brownback said the admission of escaped North Koreans as refugees would send a ‘strong message’ to Pyongyang.

“Officially recognising those who escape as refugees sends a strong message to the regime, and little else can achieve as much tangible progress,” he said.—AFP
