LAHORE, April 27: None of the 12 Punjabi language movies released last year has been considered by the Asian Cultural Association of Pakistan committee for the best film award.

“Portrayal of ruffians as heroes and vulgar scenes forced the committee to exclude all Punjabi language films from the list,” association’s chief organiser Jarar Rizvi told newsmen on Thursday.

Association secretary-general said Urdu movie ‘Koi Tujh Sa Kahan’ was adjudged as the best film out of the 11 produced last year. Moammar Rana and Reema were declared the best actor and actress for their performance in the movie.

Arbaz Khan and Veena Malik were chosen for the best supporting roles in ‘Kiyoun Tum Say Piyar Hai’ and ‘Koi Tujh Sa Kahan, respectively.

The awards will be distributed at a ceremony at Alhamra on May 27.
