SRINAGAR, April 27: The chief minister of occupied Kashmir won a seat in a state assembly by-election, allowing him to retain his post, an election official said on Thursday.

Ghulam Nabi Azad was a minister in the federal Congress-led government before he was asked to head the occupied Kashmir in November 2005.—AFP
