GUJRANWALA, April 26: Heirs of deceased government officers are up in arms against the district administration over changing the process of the payment of benevolent funds.

At a meeting held here on Wednesday, participants said that previously the offices concerned issued cheques of benevolent funds to heirs which they would receive from banks easily.

Now, they had been directed to collect these from offices concerned while heirs, including widows and young girls, had to face hardships in reaching the city from far-flung areas.

They demanded that the previous process should be restored immediately. — Correspondent
