MUZAFFARGARH: A man suffered severe burns after a cane full of acid was poured over him during a bus stand timings dispute in Jatoi Tehsil on Tuesday.

Abdul Qayyum sustained serious injuries and was initially taken to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Jatoi. Due to the severity of his condition, doctors later transferred him to Nishtar Hospital Multan’s burn unit.

Police have registered a case and arrested two suspects, identified as Punal and Ayub.

According to the police, the suspects arrived on a motorcycle carrying a cane of acid and threw it on Abdul Qayyum, who is the manager of a rival bus stand.

District Police Officer Dr. Mohammed Rizwan directed the officials to arrest the suspects and take legal action. Jatoi police have registered a case under Section 336B and 34 of Pakistan penal Code.
